Ordering windows

Rhigo windows are made exactly to size. To be able to manufacture windows accurately we need stencils or accurate drawings from you. 

 Making stencils

For our production we use stencils that fit exactly into the opening in the ship’s side. Make these stencils preferably out of hardboard or similar material that does not shrink or expand. Usually the flat side is placed on the outside of the ship and the size of the opening is marked on the inner surface with a felt-tip or pencil. 

 Indicate on the stencil:

  • which is the top and the inside or outside

  • starboard or port

  • window type

  • method of fixing

  • finishing

  • any particular details

  • your name

 The stencil must be sawn out carefully and be fitted into the opening. The better the stencil fits into the opening, the more accurately we can make your window.

Particular details of each type of window

  • Be careful in the case of a horizontal sliding window that the upper and lower edges of the window run parallel. Show on the stencil the forward end of the ship. Normally a sliding window slides open from the front to the back. That is to say from fore to aft. In special cases we can make an exception to this. It is possible to make a window slide open from the back to the front, but this does necessitate a number of modifications to the window. You must inform us of this when ordering.

  • Be careful in the case of a half pane that slides down that the sides run parallel with each other.

  • For folding windows we ask you to indicate the angle at which the window is placed in the ship’s side. To determine the length of the struts and gas-struts it is important that we get this angle from you.

If it is a case of new construction and the window openings will be cut out working from exact drawings, we can also work from these drawings. Indicate clearly on the drawing in this case particular details to do with production and requirements.

You will receive an order confirmation following all agreements. The time to delivery only begins after we have received all the information that we need to be able to start production of your windows.
